Se produire sur une scène et tourner en Grande Région signifie franchir des frontières et être confronté à des contextes professionnels très différents. Le prochain concert de votre tournée n’aura peut-être lieu qu’à quelques kilomètres, mais vous pourriez bien être confronté non seulement à une autre langue, mais aussi à d’autres lois, taxes et coutumes. Avec une population d’un peu plus de 11 millions d’habitants, la Grande Région – c’est-à-dire la région constituée de la Sarre (ALL), la Lorraine (FR), le Luxembourg, la Rhénanie-Palatinat (ALL), la Wallonie (BE), la communauté francophone de la Belgique, et la communauté germanophone de la Belgique – a un grand nombre de groupes actifs et plus de 300 salles et festivals, ce qui représente un énorme potentiel à saisir par les groupes en tournée.
Un panel composé de promoteurs, d’agents et d’artistes se rassemblera pour débattre des vrais aspects des tournées dans cette région et pour donner un aperçu sur les bonnes pratiques à adopter par les groupes qui s’apprêtent à partir en tournée. La discussion prépare également la série d’ateliers « Oberkorn, it’s a small town » qui se tiendra le vendredi et le samedi au Rockhalstudio et qui est consacrée aux bonnes pratiques à suivre par les musiciens et groupes souhaitant tourner en Grande Région.

À quoi peut-on s’attendre en matière de soutien et de financement? Comment peut-on s’y prendre pour construire son propre réseau ? Et dans quel sens la Grande Région peut-elle constituer une porte d’entrée vers les marchés européens et mondiaux ?
Lors de ce panel, nous débattrons des possibilités de projets artistiques durables et des opportunités internationales pour les musiciens et les professionnels de la musique en Grande Région.

GIGGING IN THE GREATER REGION: Luxembourg, France, Belgium & Germany

Gigging in the Greater Region means crossing borders. The next gig on your tour is maybe only some kilometers away, but you might have to deal not only with a different country and language, but also with different regulations, taxes and habits. With more than 11 million people, the Greater Region, i.e. the area combining Saarland (DE), Rhineland-Palatinate (DE), Lorraine (FR), Luxembourg, Wallonia (B), the French Community and the German-speaking Community of Belgium, has an impressive number of active bands and more than 200 venues and festivals. This is an enormous potential for touring bands and artists!
A panel composed of promoters, agents and artists will discuss the realities of touring in this cross-border region and give insights on best practices for bands planning to go on the road. The panel is also preparing the « Oberkorn, it’s a small town » workshop series focussing on the best practices for touring musicians and taking place on Friday and Saturday.

During this panel we will discuss international opportunities and possibilities to build a sustainable business for musicians and music professionals based in the Greater Region.
